FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you need to know before you send your first row.

Do I need a database or a backend?

No. SheetCapture writes straight into a Google Sheet you already own. Send a request from your website, app or form, and the data appears as a new row.

Do you store the data I send?

Never. Submissions pass straight through to your Google Sheet. We don't save them in our database or write them to our logs.

What data can I send?

Any fields you like, up to 50 per row. Each field becomes a column: we match your existing headers, and add a column for anything new. A date column records when each row arrived.

Does it work with a plain HTML form?

Yes. Point your form's action at the API and add two hidden fields, GoogleSheetID and AccessKey. Every other field in the form becomes a column. No JavaScript needed.

Is my Google Sheet kept private?

Yes. You only share it with our API email, as an Editor. It isn't made public, and nobody else gets access.

What happens if I run out of requests?

The API returns a 402 until your allowance refills, every month on the day you signed up. We warn you in your account at 80%, and you can change plan at any time.

Is there a free plan?

Yes. The Trial plan is free and includes 20 requests every month, which is plenty for a contact form or a small waitlist.

Your next form submission could already be in a sheet.
